Our club night is on Thursdays at 8pm. We also host “Badminton Upgrade” sessions once a month for league players.
We play at Kings Fitness & Leisure, Station Road, Cheddar, BS27 3AH.
No, we kindly ask that all prospective members contact us and fill out our membership enquiry form. Once you’re a member you can turn up and play whenever you wish. We monitor numbers to make sure we don’t get over-subscribed.
Unfortunately due to limited court availability we’re unable to accept beginners. There is a Racquets session (juniors) at Kings on Fridays.
Yes! We welcome juniors aged 15+ are welcome if accompanied by an adult however we do not currently offer junior coaching. There are two clubs in the area that offer exceptional coaching for juniors, these are Chew Valley BC and Uphill BC.
We charge £8 for adults and £6 for juniors per session on a pay-as-you-go basis and there’s no membership fee.
During peak season (between September and March) we usually see 24–28 members in attendance. During off-peak season we tend to see a drop in numbers but we keep the club running year round. Off-peak season attendance is usually between 14–20 members.
We usually occupy all four courts in the hall.
Our Co-Chair Simon Winter is a Level One Badminton England coach, so some coaching during club nights is available. We are also very fortunate to have coaching sessions with Level Three Badminton England coach James Elkin periodically throughout the year.
Our club has a healthy range of player abilities, from intermediate right up to county level. We currently have one league team in the North Somerset Badminton League.
We play with premium quality feather shuttles which are stored in a humidity container for longevity. We donate our used shuttles to Uphill Juniors badminton club for their drills and coaching sessions.
